Art in me

Art is the skill of making quality works (in terms of refinement, beauty, function, form, meaning of form, and so on), such as dance, painting, carving. Art includes many human activities in creating visual, audio, or performance works that express the imagination, ideas, or technical skill of the maker, to be appreciated for their beauty or emotional strength. with art, we can freely express ourselves according to our talents and abilities. With art we can also show others that we can develop the art that we learn and develop so that it becomes a work that can amaze people and enjoy seeing it.

The definition of art is constantly changing and evolving to include different types of activity, and the question "What is Art?" has been discussed for thousands of years. But, in my opinion  that art is  the attempt to create awesome objects/things , while others call art all of the works that appear in a gallery or museum, whether beautiful or ugly. Everyone's taste for art is different, you cannot conclude that art is good or not just because of the opinion of some people. Art can also mean a specific skill you've learned, like the art of drawing using a brush and watercolor.

Talking about art, I am very familiar with the word "art" because since I was a child I was used to an art, namely "The Art of Music". Let me retell and share my experiences about the arts that I have learned. When I was 14 years old, my Sunday school teacher asked us students to join in learning music together. my teacher named Mr. Hendriyanto, he is a kind and caring person for his students because he offered to teach us how to play music. he said that we are free to choose whatever music we like and he is happy to be ready to teach us because he can almost any musical instrument. then I chose guitar because I like to hear the guitar and really wanted to learn it. After that, I learned a little bit about bass and drum. Long story short, I've been studying for about a year and I've been playing guitar at various church events such as Christmas, Easter, and worship every week.

I could said that art is ingrained in my soul and I am proud of the talents that God has given to me. Therefore, I will not stop there. As I told on my previous blog that when I was in junior high school, I was already learning beatbox. Beatbox is sound art that is only released by the mouth and other organs such as the throat and with a few breathing techniques. With beatbox, I can be known to many people through my performances at various places and events such as art performances at school, Christmas and New Year events, social events, and so on. Studying art, especially in music, made me more confident and able to socialize with many people. I thought there are so many benefits that we can get through the art that we learn and cultivate. With my talent, I already have many friends even on cyberspace. not only for me but for others, I hope you make the art you choose a way for you to express yourself and make your life colorful by providing interesting and amazing works.

My Understanding about CCU

According to what I learned that CCU ( Cross Cultural Understanding ) is About how we get to know someone by finding out their culture and various other aspects such as habits, personality, and language used. that was very useful and has many uses in our lives, namely to unite good relationships in work, school, and the environment. Learning about CCU (Cross-Cultural Understanding) we could know that it is important to know their culture and personality so that it is easier to get closer to people we have just met and have broad ideas about various cultures from one country to another. In my opinion, after I learned about this material, I have a better understanding of how to respect other people's cultures and give appreciation for the good behavior they have given me so that I can become a person who can foster a sense of togetherness and tolerance that can unite differences.

Getting to know someone's culture can make us understand that we can easily build good relationships with each other by starting a simple but acceptable communication. the most important thing is we have to understand that everyone has characteristics and characteristics that are different from each country.  it is very important for us, before starting a conversation, it would be better if we find out their habits and how they talk as usual so that the resulting communication could be closeness and intimacy. and in the end, there will be good things that can be done if you already have a good relationship such as opening a business together, making an agreement on a project, and so on.

Differences of Indonesian culture with another culture ( Japan )

Regarding existing cultural differences, I argue that these differences are the uniqueness and characteristics of the country itself. We can learn and get to know other people's culture is beauty in difference. that means, differences are not a reason for us to unite, but a habit to be able to appreciate and love the existing culture. therefore, I will explain the cultural differences between Indonesia and Japan (based on my experience)

When we came home from school, we decided to go to a Japanese restaurant for lunch. (our school is very close to the mall) after that, we immediately looked for a place for us. There we saw a lot of tourists from Japan who also ate lunch at the same restaurant as us. after that we sat down and ordered the food we chose. It takes about 15 minutes to wait. Suddenly we were surprised to see the way the Japanese tourist ate the food. they raise their bowls to their mouth to make it easier to eat with chopsticks, especially bowls of rice. we were all surprised because it was the first time we saw people eating that way. Different from us, Indonesians who eat slowly, and use spoons and forks, and there should be no noise when chewing food.

Japan

Indonesia

From there we understand that a person's culture is different, even from trivial things, namely table manner that is very common in our daily lives. But it doesn't matter to us because that's where we find the importance of maintaining our attitude and trying to respect everyone.

Stereotypes ( Europe )

Talking about stereotypes, we must first know the meaning of stereotypes themselves. The stereotype is how someone believes about attributes that also be characteristic of a member of a particular group. In my opinion, stereotypes are divided into two, some are positive and some are negative, this can be positive if we think about what is good for them. but it can also be negative if we think that they behave badly and are not in accordance with the existing norms, which in turn leads to prejudice and discrimination.

That's a little definition of stereotypes, now I will explain, of course in accordance with my understanding of stereotypes in Europe, more precisely in France and Germany. according to what I have read, that France has a stereotype that French people like to drink wine, famous for its desserts such as macaron, crepe, souffle, and so on. French also proud if their country will be known as a country rich in art.

There are a few interesting facts that might be new knowledge for those of you who don't know about this, that France doesn't really have a good relationship with German. I don't know why, but it will be interesting if I give an explanation about the stereotypes of Germany as a country which is famous for its sophisticated technology. german has a stereotype that they are accustomed to discipline even for trivial things like breakfast, it indicates that german people always put quality in everything they do and great in time management ( punctual ). Speaking of food, Germans cannot enjoy bland food because they are accustomed to eating foods that have a strong taste, and are known to love sausages and pretzels.

There are many more stereotypes that can be explained about these two countries and it indicates that each country has its stereotype, whether positive or negative. depending on what we understand it like and how we judge someone, not in general, but personally, because attitudes and behaviors are essentially different from one another. I think that's all from me regarding the explanation of "Stereotypes" (Europe).

People & Place

People

Friends but like a family

I have friends who are very good to me, even though we have different beliefs, but that does not prevent us from having a good relationship as friends. As I told you before, that I had friends when I was in junior high school, and in short, we formed a beatbox group called "Aberis" which stands for A for Ahmad, BE for Yobel , RI for Rivaldo, and S for Sigit. Besides teaching beatbox to me, they also taught me a lot about the importance of tolerance in friendship and supporting each other, as well as helping each other when someone is having difficulties. so, let me introduce them one by one.

First, His name is Ahmad Zulfikar, we usually called him Ahmad. He is the pioneer in beatboxing, not only among us, but at our school, he is a person who doesn't forget his friends, but because he is already working, we rarely see him in the end, but we are still on good terms until now. He is the most mature person among us all and is the one to advise us if there is a mistake we did.

Second, his name is Rivaldo Kurniawan, we usually called him Valdo. I wasn't very close to him in junior high school, because he never appeared among us, and when we graduated we were all surprised because he studied beatbox quietly without talking to us. since then we have started to get along and be good friends until now. he is also a friend to tell stories when I am sad or happy and we often exchange ideas about whatever we like.

Third, his name is Sigit Wibisono, we usually called him Sigit. He is the person who understands me the most. He was the one who always faithfully accompanied me when I was in junior high school, wherever I wanted to go, he was always there. if I need his help, he is ready to help me until my problem is solved. the point is he is my irreplaceable friend.

I miss the times when we could hang out, tell stories, and joke together. See you again after the coronavirus go away.

Place

Unforgettable moment

For me, an unforgettable place is where we can spend our time with our family and make it a sweet memory as a beautiful memory with our loved ones. I will tell you about a place that has become an unforgettable moment that I have experienced with my family in Bali.

I will not tell in detail about the contents of the story while we were there. but in Bali,  we can spend our holidays by visiting various tourist attractions there such as Tanah Lot, Kuta Beach, Pura Ulun Danu Bratan Bedugul, and others. Bali becomes an unforgettable place for me and my family because we can gather and have fun and strengthen our family relationships to remain harmonious and nice.

There are our photos of when my family and I went to Bali :
